This 2-hour lesson plan helps students reflect on the meaning of a historical event by creating a satirical interpretation of the event through the modern use of a meme. You can use this lesson for any historical event, and it can be adapted for use with either Adobe Premiere Rush or Adobe Spark Video. Video creation with Adobe products allow students to both create original media and to explain their creation through video narration.
Because Adobe Premiere Rush enables narrated image analysis, this lesson empowers students to interpret historical events in a clever and thoughtful way.
This lesson plan was created by Greg Kulowiec, a former high school history teacher and educational technology consultant.
