In this 5-hour project, students develop, record, and edit a 5-minute white paper research summary video for a non-academic audience. Through multi-modality, this strategy helps students of any level or discipline critically think about communicating their research to a non-academic audience by visually communicating the main points of a research paper. This can serve as an individual as well as a team project.
Adobe Premiere Pro promotes digital media skills and empowers students to create audio and video assets that make them stand out in a professional hiring process as well as on professional social media sites. This strategy can be adapted for use with other Adobe products, such as Premiere Rush.
This project was created by Stephen W. Marshall, Ph.D., an Adobe Master Teacher and award-winning professor, media content creator/ (digital) marketer and higher education administrator at East Tennessee State University.
