In this 60- to 90-minute project, students will create an interactive persona based on a given topic. The goal of this project is to create an interactive way to portray a subject's wants and needs based on a target demographic or idea. In UX design, personas are meant to embody the archetypical user, whose goals and characteristics represent the needs of a larger group. By creating a persona using an interactive medium like XD, we are able to explore interactive content creation and create the ideal persona for a given content area. This project can be applied to any subject where a traditional persona or archetype can be applied and can be adapted for use with Adobe Photoshop.
Adobe XD allows users to create polished interactive UX/UI experiences that are easy to view and share. Students investigate the wants and needs of users and apply these needs to a simple prototype. This project is versatile and can be adapted to any discipline; i.e. creating personas for the wants, needs or properties of characters from a book, historical figures, animals, or chemical compounds.
This project was created by Brian Puente, an Adobe Master Teacher and former freelancer/visual effects artist who is now the Adobe Creative Cloud Support Specialist at the University of Arizona.
