In this 3- to 5-hour strategy, students create a 4- to 8-minute video narrative sharing expert insights into a course topic or tension. Students explore a topic of interest, generate 3 inquiry questions, interview 2 experts, and leverage at least 1 existing media asset (e.g., video) to help them create this video narrative.
Because Adobe Premiere Pro offers great affordances in the video editing process, it can help students creatively engage with course ideas and present them in critical, yet colorful and dynamic ways. This project may be adapted for use with other Adobe products.
This strategy was created by Dr. Justin Hodgson, Associate Professor of Digital Rhetoric at Indiana University, Founding Editor of JUMP+ (jumpplus.net), and Project Lead for Online Composition at IU.
