This 30- to 60-minute project helps students think about political and social rhetoric by using Adobe Acrobat Pro to analyze, comment on, and possibly even rewrite portions of an op-ed. By asking students to apply their thoughts directly to the text itself, this project builds critical thinking and debate skills.
Adobe Acrobat is a powerful tool for close reading and analysis that empowers students to insert themselves into contemporary social, political, and economic debates, as well as to think about the way that various publications shape and influence public discourse. This project can be adapted for use with literary texts as well as scholarly essays and journal articles.
This project was created by Max Suechting, an Adobe Master Teacher, doctoral student, and educator studying contemporary American popular culture.
