Design a photo collection to bring together art and science

01:16

This 4.5-hour project challenges students to observe and photograph aesthetic phenomena in the natural world and to share their observations through a photo essay published in Adobe InDesign. Students explore definitions of art and science, and they craft an artist statement about how their photographs inform their understanding of art and science.

Adobe InDesign allows students to showcase their photographs and artist statements in digital formats suitable to print or virtual audiences. Students might combine their photo essays into a virtual exhibit on the art of science.

This project was created by Rachel Bryson, an Adobe Master Teacher, a PhD Student at Utah State University and an adjunct instructor of English at Weber State University.
