This 5-hour project is designed as part two of two that helps students think about the power of imagery and its use in storytelling, However, it can also be used as a stand-alone lesson. In this project, students will use their own research, or findings from part I, of how images, video footage and editing are used to enhance storytelling. Students will look at interviews and documentaries to plan for and create footage that includes effective b-roll for an intended effect on the viewer. They will use Adobe Premiere Rush to create their footage, which they will share with the cohort once complete, during a premiere and feedback session. This strategy can be adapted for use in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Because Adobe Premiere Rush enables creativity through visual media, this strategy empowers students to demonstrate their understanding of the power of images and music in a deep and meaningful way.
This project was created by Osi Ejiofor, a former Assistant Head Teacher and an Adobe Education Leader.
